Painting to accompany poem will be in design mode soon.
The Declaration of Independence states
That every person is created equal*
And have equal rights*
These words carry great weight
Because not only written as legal
Equality is fundamental
That was written in 1776
As a movement for equity
What has been written since
Is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
A statement of freedoms
What it says is this:
“All humans are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”**
These recognized doctrines as the framework on Earth
Lead the way, shine a light, and are example of Ethics
Discrimination is illegal, immoral, and harmful
That’s why wise people have written on being equal
And made it lawful
We, us humans, we have brilliant brains and serendipitous spirits
It’s a waste, it’s a shame, to waste our minds on discrimination
In all obviousness, to point to the main fact:
We’re all a different shade of brown, not white and black
We all have families, we all want good lives
We all need to follow the words stating those rights
We are moving forward as a humanity
Let’s do this together, let’s do this with sanity
Love, and peace, and togetherness as neighbors
Makes more sense than the chaos that hate causes
